WHEREAS, the Hilo Woman�';s Club recently commemorated its
59th anniversary having first been organized on November 20, 19201
and
WHEREAS, since.its inception, the Hilo Woman's Club has
registered over 1250 members and presently maintains an active
enrollment of approximately 180 members; and
WHEREAS, this kamaaina service organization has been over the
years very visible and articulate in the promotion of the educational,
the social and the civic development of our community by virtue- of
its participation in innumerable successful projects and causes in
such endeavors as beautification, culture, arts, health and
recreation to, name a few; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Woman"s Club's contributions and accomplish-
ments are well documented in writing and are also evidenced by the
countless physical and visual improvements to the City of Hilo this
community -minded organization can be credited for; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in recognition of the Hilo Woman's Club 59'th anniversary,
that it extends congratulations and best wishes for continuous
achievements in the years to comes and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be instructed to remit a true copy of this resolution to
Ms. Lorene McGowan, President of the Hilo Womam?s Club along with
its appreciation for 59 years of meritorious community and public
service.
