HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 551 Draft 01 1976-1980County of Hawaii --State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, pursuant to County Charter Section 3-14 interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance may be by resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended for the following department: SECTION 8.14 (b). FISCAL DIVISION. DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY. 1. Reallocate one position of Account Clerk SR -10 to Assistant Customer Service Supervisor SR -15. 2. Change in class title of one position of Water Consumer Service Supervisor SR -17 to Customer Service Supervisor SR -17. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the departments of Water Supply, Finance, and Personnel Services for their information. SERVICES COUNTY OF HAWAII ASSISTANT CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR Duties Summary: Assists in supervising the functions and activities of the Customer Service Section of the Department of Water Supply; processes water service applications and changes and the maintenance of records, receiving and resolv- ing of complaints and providing information; and performs other related duties as required. Distinguishing Characteristics: This class is distinguished by its responsibility for assisting the Customer Service Supervisor in the activities and functions connected with the processing of water service applications and accounting records and cash collections; whereas, the Customer. Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising the functions and activities of the Customer Service Section of the Department of later Supply. Illustrative Examples of Work: Assists in assigning, supervising and reviewing the work of clerical positions involved in preparing and processing of applications for initiating, changing or discontinuing water services, receiving complaints and preparing of adjustments to water bills, and maintaining water consumer service and history records; receives and accounts for all payments of water accounts made to banks; follows -up on the payments of delinquent accounts including the billing, collection and accounting of such accounts; assists in assigning, supervising and reviewing the work of subordinates involved in the application of rules and regulations as it relates to service of water consumers; assists In determining large meter installation costs, facilities charges, permit costs, closing costs for final billing and payment for large water consumers; assists in developing and revising procedures and forms to improve and simplify work system; assists in furnishing information, over the counter or in the field on water rates and explains rules, regulations and policies relating to water service matters; assists in processing and resolving high water bill complaints by interviewing complainants to determine. nature of complaint, conducting investigations, determining and computing proper adjust- ments; investigates accidents regarding damage to the department's property, such as fire hydrants, meters, and meter and service laterals and recommends appropriate action; promotes sound customer relations. Minimum Qualification Requirements: Training and Eimer _ence: .A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and 4 years of clerical or office experience involving public contact work, one of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, including or supplemented by 2 years of experience in water sales work.
