WHEREAS, in 1967, RONALD TADAO MIYASHIRO began his farming
career by starting his 10 -acre poultry and hog farm in the Panaewa
farm lots which has since developed into .the largest poultry
farm on the island of Hawaii and one of the largest hog farm
in the Hilo area; and
WHEREAS, "RON" or "RONNIE", as he was popularly known, was
an active and contributing member of various community and farm
industry organizations; and
WHEREAS, RON, known for his leadership, hard work, and his
willingness to help othrs, received such recognition as being
named the 1970 Outstanding Young Farmer for Hawaii County by
the Hilo Jaycees; by being selected as the State Outstanding
Young Jaycee and representing the State of Hawaii in the National
Young Farmer's competition at Bellville, Illinois; and as the
1978 Outstanding Farm Bureau member of the Hilo County Farm
Bureau.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it takes this means to recognize RONALD T. MIYASHIRO
for his exemplary contributions and achievements.
BE II' FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of. Hawaii
be directed to transmit true copies of this resolution to his
widow, firs. Judith H. Miyashiro and to his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Tokio
Miyashiro.
