RESOLUTION NO. 570
WHEREAS, on Saturday, February 23, 1980, the Honokaa High
School Inter -Relations Club sponsored and conducted the Fourth Annual
Miss Honokaa High School Pageant; and
WHEREAS, seven talented and charming young ladies vied for the
esteemed honor of being selected Miss Honokaa High of 19791 and
WHEREAS, in this closely contested pageant where these young
beauties were judged in such categories as speech making, poise,
beauty and talent, without doubt a demanding programme for any
teen-age competition; and
WHEREAS, through this setting of competition and pageantry,
sophomore Charlene Ann Paiva, the winner of the talent division,
emerged as the deserving Miss Honokaa High for the year 1979.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in recognition and commendation of this honor, that it
extends good luck and best wishes to Charlene Ann Paiva in her
future academic and career endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
is hereby instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to
Charlene Ann Paiva;,her parents, Franklin and Florence Paiva;
Counsellor of Inter -Relations Club, Mrs. Gladys Nacis; and
Principal of Honokaa High School, Jerry Sakamoto.
