Resolution
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 10-9, Hawaii County Charter,
Appropriations: Reduction and Transfer, the Council by resolution
may transfer part or all of any unencumbered appropriation balance
from one agency to another; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council is very much concerned about
the tenuous health and safety conditions within the County of Hawaii
created by the recent rain and flood damages; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council is determined to take every
precaution necessary to protect the peace, life, property, health,
safety and morals of the community should an emergency situation
arise,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it recognizes the emergency nature throughout the
County of Hawaii and that emergency funds to be transferred from
the various accounts shall be exempt from the conditions for transfer
of funds expressed in Ordinance No. 447, Sections 3, 4 and 5 for
a 60 -day period.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a report be filed with the County
Council setting forth the project, amount of expenditure, and
funding source within sixty (60) days from date of this resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Herbert T.
Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii.
