HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 062 Draft 01 1998-2000 COUNTY OF HAWAN STATE OF HAWAII RED©LUTION NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII. WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii is authorized to adopt the street names of unnamed roadways in the County of Hawaii pursuant to Section 22-35, Article 2, Chapter 22, Hawaii County Code; and WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii at its April 5, 1995, meeting adopted Resolution No. 40-95, which accepted the road and drainage dedication deed. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its regular meeting of February 19, 1999, approved the names for the certain unnamed roadways within the Naniakea Subdivision, Waakea, South Hilo, Hawaii; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that said roadways, as indicated on Exhibit "A" of this Resolution, be named as follows: Road A: "Naniakea Street" - extension of existing street Road B: "Nikolao Place" - Hawaiian word for Nicholas Road C: "Mika'ele Place" - Hawaiian word for Michael Road D: "Kiwi Place" - meaning guard, watchman Road E: "Ho'omakoa Place" - meaning to act bravely Road F: "Kelika Place" - Hawaiian word for Derick. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 23rr1 day of June , 1999.
