HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 569 Draft 01 1976-1980RESOLUTION NO. 569 WHEREAS, February 14, Valentine's Day is celebrated by most. people every year as the day to romatically reminisce and exchange pleasantries between loved ones; and WHEREAS, to John and Angelina Vieira,:Valentine's Day has a greater significance, as on February 14, 1910, this kama'aina couple recited their wedding vows at Paauilo, Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the epitome of marital bliss is reflected in John's and Angelina's seventy years of union in marriage, which was enhanced and rewarded with the begetting and up -bringing of a son and three daughters; and WHEREAS, John and Angelina who are 91 and 86 years young, respectively, were both born in Paauilo of immigrant parents, have enjoyed a memory -rich life, and more importantly, have set remark- able examples in faith, trust, hope and love, which are the necessary ingredients not only for a happy and successful marriage but also a meaningful and fulfilling life. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in recognition of an exemplary marriage, hereby extends its congratulations to John and Angelina Vieira on their seventieth wedding anniversary. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii remit true copies of this resolution, along with its wishes for many more anniversaries to John and Angelina Vieira; to their daughters, Mrs. Frederick V. (Helen) Toledo, Mrs. Alfred (Evelyn) Serrao, Mrs. Richard W. (Irene) Benton and their daughter-in-law Mrs. Rudolph (Louise) Vieira. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 5th day in March, 1980.
