Resolution
WHEREAS, the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has advised
the County of Hawaii that it will accept applications for amendments to the
grant applications Entitlement 1978 ($180,000), Entitlement 1979 ($50,000),
Small Cities 1978 ($327,600), and Small Cities 1979 ($400,000) for funds
allocated to the Hilo City Core Renewal Project, less amounts obligated or
spent; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the Federal application requires certain
assurances and certifications from the County with respect to the Block Grant
Program, as contained in Form HUD -7088; and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that a timely submission of the applications
for amendments in accordance with the appropriate Federal regulations is
necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is hereby assured
of full compliance by the County with the assurance and certification require-
ments contained in Form HUD -7088.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is
hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached applications for Block
Grant amendments in the amounts of $279,360 and $581,400 for the projects,
Renovation to the old Hilo Hospital for use as an elderly day care center,
and Acquisition of land and site improvements for the ultimate development
of elderly housing in downtown Hilo, respectively, and to file such appli-
cations with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for their
review',to provide such additional information as may be required to execute
any other related documents necessary to process the applications and to act
as the authorized representative of the County.
