RESOLUTION NO 487
ccHEREAS, ELIZA LEIALOHA KAMAKA'.^IWOOLE OSORIO, retired school
teacher and community leader, passed away on August 22, 1979; and
[dHEREAS, ELIZA LEIA.LOHA KkMAKAVIWOOLE OSCRIO received her
teaching certificate at the Territorial Normal School and spent most
of her adult life teaching,nearly 42 years of which were at the
waiskea-Kai School; and
WHEREAS, as an active participant at the Haili Church in Hilo
FLIZA OSORIO served in the capacity of deaconess, choir leader,
Hauoli Mothers of Haili, member of Haili Choir, director of Haili
Junior Choir, council of the Hawaiian Evangelical Association and
delegate to the annual Aha Paeaina; and
FHERFAS, ELI'ZA OSORIO was a member of the Hawaiian Girls Club,
the Retired Teachers Association, ?Native Sons and Daughters and
:'aiakea Kumiai; and
1'HEREAS, ELIZA LFIALOHA KAMAKAVIVOOLE OSORIO was named as 1960
Mother of the Year in the County of Hawaii, a well deserved recogni-
tion for her noteworthy contributions to the community as a leader
in the field of education, religion and many untold community involve-
ments.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HA%AII that it expresses its profound sadness upon the passing of
ELI2A LEIALOHA KAN.AKAWIWOOLF OSORIO and extends its condolence and
deepest sympathy to her family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this resolution
to her husband Emil Osori.o; to her sons, Emil Osorio, Jr., and
Elroy osorio and to her daughters Mrs. James (Leonetta) Kinard and
to Mrs. Daniel (Lynette) Paleka.
