WIiEREAS, five young Junior Golfers from the Big Island of
Hawaii have been selected to participate in the Junior World
Championship on July 17-20, 1979, at the Balboa and Torrey Pines
Golf Courses in San Diego, California; and
WHEREAS, selected on the basis of demonstrated performance
at State and local tournaments, character, attitude, sportsman-
ship and participation were GREGORY MEYER, IRIS KUWAYE, ALIKA
TOLEDO, and KENT KIKUCHI of Hilo and JON YOSHIDA of Kealakekua,
Kona; and
WHEREAS, these Big Island youths, along with 33 other Junior
Golfers, will represent our State.cf Hawaii in this Championship
Tournament where more than G00 Junior Golfers from 50 countries
throughout the world will compete,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it extends its congratulations and best wishes
to these outstanding golfers --GREGORY MEYER, IRIS KUWAYE,
ALI.KA TOLEDO, KENT KIKUCHI and JON YOSHIDA.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of
this resolution to GREGORY MEYER, IRIS KUWAYE, ALIKA TOLEDO,
KENT KIKUCHI, and JON YOSHIDA.
