Resolution
WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 9, of Hawaii County Code provides
that the County Council may by resolution approved by a majority
of its members, dispose of real property; and
WHEREAS, the cottage located at Honokaa High & Elementary
School is surplus and may be removed due to phasing out of
teacher housing unit; and
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Accounting and
General Services plan to renovate and refurbish the cottage to
provide facilities for housing the Brantley Center's residential
training program for handicapped adults; and
WHEREAS, the Brantley Center, a nonprofit corporation,
offers evaluation and training programs, sheltered employment
opportunities, and a work activities center; and
WHEREAS, the primary objective of this program is to provide
handicapped individuals practical training in dependent living
skills; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII That, in accordance with the provision of Ordinance
No. 69, the Director of Finance be authorized to transfer the
cottage to the State of Hawaii, Department of Accounting and
General Services,
