Resolution
WHEREAS, the Center for Coastal Marine Studies, under the
leadership of Dr. Bernd Wursig, Research Fellow, University of
California at Santa Cruz, will be conducting a dolphin research
project in Kealakekua Bay; and
WHEREAS, the County Council supports such projects and
recognizes the value of their findings to the general public; and
WHEREAS, the research effort requires the establishment of
a field camp at Napoopoo Park (Manini Point); and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 364, adopted on June 3, 1978, provides
for the leasing or granting of licenses to governmental agencies
on such terms and conditions as deemed proper,
NOW, THEREFURE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF' THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the Director of Finance be authorized to enter into
an agreement with the University of California at Santa Cruz for
the utilization of certain portions of Napoopoo Park (Manini
Point) for activities specifically related to the study.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii transmit copies of this resolution to the Director of
Finance; and to Dr. Bernd Wursig, Hana Naira, P. O. Box 859,
Captain Cook, Hawaii, 96704.
