WHEREAS, the 2nd Hawaiian Holiday Harvest Festival will once
.again promote the island of Hawaii as the birthplace of Iiawaii's
Macadamia Nut Industry; and
WHEREAS, the town of Iionokaa, the Macadamia Nut Capital of
the world, will be the host site for this extravaganza from
August 10-19, 1979; and
WHEREAS, this commemorative Harvest Festival promises to be
a gala celebration featuring a beauty pageant; a women's softball
tournament; ethnic music and dances; a special golf tournament
using macadamia nut golf balls; the Jaycees' carnival; horse
racing; parades; and the Young Farmers Country Fair,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it extends its aloha and best wishes for...a most
successful festival to the organizers, supporters and participants
of the 2nd Annual Hawaiian Holiday Harvest Festival.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be directed to transmit a true copy of this resolution to the
Macadamians, Inc.
