RESOLUTLfjN 438
WHEREAS, Miss Donna T. Urban was recently crowned the 1979
Miss Hawaii-Filipina at the 21st Annual Big Island Fiesta Filipina
hosted by the Big Island Filipino Community Council; and
WHEREAS, in the colorful and entertaining pageant which featured
five lovely and talented contestants vying for the prestigious
title, Miss Urban caught the eyes of the judges and also won the
swimsuit competition; and
WHEREAS, Miss Urban, who is currently attending Konawaena High
School, plans to pursue a career in the travel industry with
aspirations of being a stewardess, has enhanced that goal by winning
as she will become the Filipino community's official greeter and
will travel and meet many people during her reign.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to Donna Urban for
winning the 1979 Miss Hawaii-Filipina and wishes her every success
in her quest for additional recognition when she competes in the
state-wide competition to be held in Honolulu.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Donna T.
Urban; her parents Mr & Mrs. Daniel Urban; her sponsors, Sheraton
Volcano House Restaurant, Liberato U -Drive, the Ilocano Club of
Kona, St. Feliz Boutique International, Oona Photographic Arts;
and to State Representative Minoru Inaba.
