HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 428 Draft 01 1976-1980RESOLUTION NO. 428 WHEREAS, Miss Raedene Elaine Hayes, a seventeen year old junior at Pahoa High School, was selected 1979 Miss Pahoa at the Second Annual Miss Pahoa Pageant which was held on April 28, 1979; and WHEREAS, Miss Hayes' victory was well deserved, as the overall competition between the other five also talented and charming contestants was very close with Miss Hayes standing out in the evening gown category; and WHEREAS, the new 1979 Miss Pahoa was chosen by a panel of six judges who were instructed to look for such qualities as intelligence, dignity, poise, charm, good manners, talent and beauty, which they evidently thought was best personified in Miss Hayes; and WHEREAS, this pageant, sponsored by the Pahoa Athletic Club, has grown in community appeal and support as attested by the participation this year of the six lovely contestants and the attendance of a receptive audience. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its congratulations and best wishes to Miss Raedene Elaine Hayes during her tenure and reign as 1979 Miss Pahoa. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii is instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Miss Raedene Elaine Hayes; Mr. & Mrs. Richard Hayes, her parents; The Village Shoppe, her sponsor; Debbie Kaawaloa and Joanne Kaawaloa, pageant coordinators; Al Delos Santos, President, Ephriam Hanohano and Howard Sanoria, members of the Pahoa Athletic Club.
