RESOLUTION .NO.425 '
WHEREAS, vie have in our employ a dedicated public servant who
has been a good and loyal worker of the County of Hawaii, Parks and
Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, besides his devotion to his work, he found the
necessary time to participate in.many of the United Public Worker's
various activities and not only has he been a member of good stand-
ing on the UPW, but he also held important leadership roles, which
has helped the union grow and progress throughout the past years;
and
WHEREAS, he was well known for his expertise in the art of
lobbying at the State Legislature and more times than not, he
somehow managed to secure capital.imnrovement funds as well as
guide other pieces of legislation which were beneficial to our
people often times using his own.time and money; and
WHEREAS, his other credentials are impressive such as being
a ten year member of the UPW State Executive Board, a member of
the North Hilo Traffic Safety Committee, .a member of the Laupahoehoe
School Parent-Teacher Association and.Chairman of this group's
Legislative Committee, a member of the North Hilo Hawaiian Civic
Club, a member and past President of the,Laupahoehoe Young Farmers,
Chairman of Ninole Honohina.Precinct Democratic Party, Vice -President
of the Ninole Honohina Recreation Club, and President of the Honohina
Hongwanji Church Kyodan:_ ...
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, that in recognition of these achievements plus the recent
additional accomplishments -of -.being named the UPW Honoree of the
year, hereby, extends its congratulation to Yukio Nishimoto along
with its wishes of continued successes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the CountyCClerk remit true copies
of this resolution to Mr..Yukio Nishimoto, Mr. Henry Epstein, State
Director of the UPW, and Mr. Jack Konno, UPW Hawaii Division Director.
