Resolution Na: - 422
WHEREAS, a portion of the County road known as the Old
Mamalahoa Highway has become a road remnant by reason of the
construction of the Honokaa Playground in Honokaa, District
of Hamakua, County and State of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid road remnant consists of approx-
imately 988 lineal feet, beginning at the south boundary of
the Honokaa Infirmary and continuing in a southerly direc-
tion to where it intersects the newly constructed Honokaa
Playground perimeter roadway; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid road remnant is to be consolidated
into the Honokaa Playground site upon the consummation of a
land exchange between the State of Hawaii and the Hamakua
Sugar Company with the result that the State of Hawaii will
own all lands abutting the Honokaa Playground;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the road remnant which has been created
by the construction of the Honokaa Playground as delineated
in red on the map attached hereto, marked as Exhibit "A,"
and incorporated herein by reference, be and is hereby
abandoned.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be authorized and directed to forward a copy of this

Resolution to the Department of Land and Natural Resources,
State of Hawaii, and to the Department of Public Works,
County of Hawaii.
