RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Big Island Chapter of the Hawaii Society of
Professional Engineers WSPE) selected Alvah T. Miyamoto as
"Engineer of the Year"; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Miyamoto noted for his extensive experience
in bridge, airport and highway design is presently with the
State Highways Division contributing his knowledge to improve
the engineering aspect of our highways; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Miyamoto was instrumental in helping the
Highways Department improve its testing of construction materials
through the use of nuclear gauges, radiographs and other innovative
approaches; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Miyamoto actively participates in Parent-Teacher
Association, Little League and other community activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OP THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it congratulates Mr. Alvah T. Miyamoto for being
selected "Engineer of the Year" and commends the Big Island
Chapter of the Society Of Professional Engineers for making this
very appropriate selection.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit true copies of this resolution to Mr. Alvah T. Miyamoto,
Mr. Charles Schuster., District Engineer of the State Highways
Division,and the Big Island Chapter of the Hawaii Society of
Professional Engineers.
