Resolution
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation of the
County of Hawaii has set a goal of providing our citizens a
recreational program geared to the worthy use of leisure and
the accomplishment of well-being and self-satisfaction; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Municipal Golf Course is also a program
which is primed to provide our citizens a place for leisure
activity; and
WHEREAS, the popularity of the game of golf has been
increasing and has spread to the community youth program in the
form of the Junior Golf Program; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii recognizes
the Junior Golf Program as being in consonance with the goals of
the recreational program of the County of Hawaii and that the
Council extends its support to this program's efforts to provide
as many of our youths with the opportunity to partake in this
program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it directs the Department of Parks and Recreation,
County of Hawaii, to establish the following green fees at the
Hilo Municipal Golf Course for the Junior Golfers of our community.
$5.00.............Monthly
$ .50.............Weekday Round
$1.00.............Weekend Round
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit copies of this resolution to the Honorable Herbert T.
Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; and to Mr. Milton Hakoda,
Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation.
