HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 402 Draft 01 1976-1980County of Hawaii --State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, pursuant to County Charter Section 3-14 interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance may be by resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended for the following department: SECTION 8.14 (d). OPERATIONS DIVISION. DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY. I. Add two new positions of Clerk -Meter Reader SR -8,. 2. Add one new position of Water Plant Electrician -Mechanic WB -11. 3. Delete one position of Mechanical Repairer WB -9. 4. Delete two positions of Waterworks Helper WB -5. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted the departments.of Water Supply, Finance, Personnel Services and Corporation Counsel for their information. DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY NEW POSITIONS I. TWO POSITIONS - CLERK -METER READER SR -8 A. Salary Range: SR -8 Minimum - $632.00; Maximum - $943.00 B. Proposed Job Description: Reads water meters and records readings in meter book; computes water consumption; checks consumption figures with previous recordings and advises consumers of abnormal water consumption; prepares and submits daily report required in the field; detects and reports evidences of water leakage, etc.; investigates customer complaints; prepares, checks and processes forms, records, reports, applications for accuracy, completion and con- formance to established requirements; prepares applications for new, discontinue or transfer of water service from water consumers; and performs other related duties. II. ONE POSITION - WATER PLANT ELECTRICIAN -MECHANIC WB -11 A. Wage Board: WB -11 Minimum - $933.00; Maximum - $1,093.00 B. Proposed Job Description: Installs, maintains, repairs and overhauls electrical pumping plant, treatment plant, filter plant, chlorinator stations and related water system equipment; performs service work on electrical and mechanical equipment; inspects and tests plant electrical equipment; cleans and replaces parts, fabricates various electrical parts; reads andAnterprets electrical wiring plans and diagrams; estimates cost, time and materials needed for repair and maintenance work; supervises workers assigned; and performs other related duties. Funding for the above positions: Departmental budget. Rationale for the above requests: Positions are required due to the expansion in growth and in workload in the Kona District.
