NEW POSITIONS
THREE POSITIONS - CETA SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM AID SR -10
A. Salary Range: SR -10
Minimum - $690.00; Maximum - $1,032.00
B. Funding: Federally funded (CETA Title III)
C. Proposed Job Description: Supervises individuals 14 - 21 years in the
CETA Summer Program for Economically Disadvantaged
Youths (SPEDY) by assisting in the orientation
of participants; making daily visitation to
work sites for safety measures and to insure
that participants are occupied with sufficient
work activities; making personal contacts with
workers; conducting periodical vocational
exploration workshops; and performing other
related duties.
D. Rationale for the Request:
Positions are required to serve as counselors for the SPEDY Program in
Hilo, Puna and N. Kohala Districts. In past summers, the Department of
Education assisted the Office of Manpower Resources in operating this
program by providing counselors for the participants, but are no longer
able to provide this service.
