HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 396 Draft 01 1976-1980County of Hawaii --State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, pursuant to County Charter Section 3-14 interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance may be by resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended for the following department; CETA TITLE III (FEDERALLY FUNDED) (EXHIBIT F) SUMMER PROGRAM FOR ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED YOUTHS SECTION 6.02 (c)._ OFFICE OF MANPOWER RESOURCES. OFFICE OF THE MAYOR. 1. Add three new positions of CETA Summer Youth Employment Program Aid SR -10. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the departments of Manpower Resources, Finance, Personnel Services, and Corporation Counsel for their information. NEW POSITIONS THREE POSITIONS - CETA SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM AID SR -10 A. Salary Range: SR -10 Minimum - $690.00; Maximum - $1,032.00 B. Funding: Federally funded (CETA Title III) C. Proposed Job Description: Supervises individuals 14 - 21 years in the CETA Summer Program for Economically Disadvantaged Youths (SPEDY) by assisting in the orientation of participants; making daily visitation to work sites for safety measures and to insure that participants are occupied with sufficient work activities; making personal contacts with workers; conducting periodical vocational exploration workshops; and performing other related duties. D. Rationale for the Request: Positions are required to serve as counselors for the SPEDY Program in Hilo, Puna and N. Kohala Districts. In past summers, the Department of Education assisted the Office of Manpower Resources in operating this program by providing counselors for the participants, but are no longer able to provide this service.
