Resolution
WHEREAS, pursuant to County Charter Section 3-14 interim amendments
to the Salary Ordinance may be by resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended for the following department:
CETA TITLE VI (FEDERALLY FUNDED) (EXHIBIT F)
SECTION 8.09 (e). ELDERLY ACTIVITIES DIVISION. DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
1. Add one new -position of Nutrition Education Aid SR -8.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted
to the departments of Parks and Recreation, Finance, Personnel Services,
and Corporation Counsel for their information.

A. Salary Range: SR -8
Minimum $632.00; Maximum - $943.00
B. Funding: Federally funded (CETA Title VI - Projects and Activities)
C. Proposed Job Description:
D. Rationale for the Request:
Under close supervision of the Nutrition
Coordinator presents lessons to elderly consumers
at nutrition centers in East Hawaii twice each
month; plans Nutrition and Consumer Education
lessons for elderly Nutrition Program participants
in East Hawaii; constructs recommended visual aids
to be used in presenting lessons; assists elderly
participants in filling out food intake forms;
and performs other related duties.
Position is required because nutrition education is one of the necessary
components of the Nutrition Program for the elderly. In addition to
being served a nutritious meal, nutrition information for total meal
planning is necessary to maintain good health. Community resources
can no longer provide this service on an on-going basis.
