Kawahara was suddenly stricken with a major illness which will keep him hospi- talized for an extended period of time; and. WHEREAS, Bill's absence from his council duties will be missed as his past participation and contributions to the committee and council proceedings have been instrumental in the formulation of many of the council's decisions; and WHEREAS, while Bill's calculated but articulate voice will temporarily be void from the council chambers, his constant quest and ideals for the betterment of the well-being of the general public through effective and progressive legislation will be remembered and pursued. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that it extends to Bill its hopes and prayers for an early and successful recovery. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit a true copy of this resolution to Bill and Kay Kawahara along with its wishes for a. speedy and comfortable convalescence.
