COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 91 99
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FOUR THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED NINETEEN AND 60/100 DOLLARS ($4,919.60) FROM THE DANIEL R.
SAYRE MEMORIAL FUND FOR USE BY THE WAIAKEA AND KAILUA RESCUE
STATIONS.
WHEREAS, a grant was awarded by the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund to the Hawaii
County Fire Department in the amount of Four Thousand Nine Hundred Nineteen and 60/100
Dollars ($4,919.60); and
WHEREAS, said grant is to be used for the purchase of necessary equipment for the
Waiakea and Kailua rescue stations to increase the safety and efficiency while engaged in high
angle rescues; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of this donation will increase public safety for the residents
of the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the
County of Hawaii Fire Department is authorized to accept a grant of Four Thousand Nine
Hundred Nineteen and 60/100 Dollars ($4,919.60) from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the intent of the County of Hawaii that this grant
be used to purchase needed equipment for the Waiakea and Kailua rescue stations to increase the
safety and efficiency while engaged in high angle rescues.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Daniel R. Sayre
Memorial Fund acknowledging this generous donation.
The County Clerk shall forward copies of this resolution to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial
Fund, the Hawaii County Fire Department, and the Department of Finance, Accounts Division.
