RE: Bill No. 120 An Ordinance Amending Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), Relating to Vehicles and Traffic {adds Kaiwi
Street/Luhia Street Intersection, all approaches, to Article 10, Division 2, Moving
Vehicles, Section 24-264, Schedule 12 (Stop Intersections), paragraph (f), Kona}
On August 18, 2009, the Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations Committee was cancelled
due to unforeseen technical difficulties with the videoconference lines. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of
Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii, this written request is
submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from the Public Works and
Intergovernmental Relations Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this
matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the
matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Public Works and
Intergovernmental Relations Committee for placement on its future agenda.
