Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance adding the Mid-Level Road (Ane Keohokalole Highway)
project, for $10,000,000 of federal funds, to this fiscal year's Capital Budget. This
appropriation is being made in the event that additional stimulus monies become available
for this project. Last fiscal year, an $35,000,000 appropriation of stimulus monies was
approved by the County Council for the same project. This project will construct a new
major collector road from the intersection of Palani Road and Henry Street to Hina Lani
Street.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Public Works.

A. REQUEST:
Increase the federal grants receivable (Account no. 110.399.5397.77) for the Mid-Level Road (Ane
Keohokalole Highway) project to $45 million.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
We are requesting a $10 million increase in appropriation in the event that additional stimulus money
becomes available that would allow us to extend the Highway to Hina Lani Street. This project is 100%
Federally funded as part of President Obama's Stimulus Program so County matching funds are not required
for construction. -wn
