WHEREAS, on December 9, 1978, a testimonial Ho'olaule'a will
be given to an esteemed lady, Edith Kekuhikuhipu'uone Kanaka'ole
for her years of community service and achievements; and
WHEREAS, "Auntie Edith" is renown for her skills and knowl-
edge as an educator in Hawaiiana and also as a premier teacher
in the art of the contemporary and ancient hula; and
WHEREAS, the testimonial is well deserved for a gracious
woman, whose personal trait of never ever refusing to assist
anyone seeking help is well known; and
WHEREAS, tors. Kanaka'ole has been active as an entertainer,
a lecturer, an educator, and an ambassador of good -will, exem-
plified by her being selected by the Association of Hawaiian Civic
Clubs as the "Outstanding Hawaiian" for the year 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII in recognition and attestment to these note-
worthy contributions Auntie Edith has given to our people in the
past and in perpetuity hereby extends its commendations for job
well done and for a testimonial befitting an endeared and remark-
able lady.
BE IT FURTHER F.ESOLVED that
is instructed to remit a copy of
Kekuhikuhipu'uone Kanaka'ole.
