WHEREAS, at the annual awards ceremonies which was held on
October 20, 1978, Mrs. Margaret Cagampang was selected as the County
of Hawaii's Outstanding Supervisory Employee of the year 1978; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cagampang, who is the Supervising Homemaker in the
Elderly Activities Program, Department of Parks and Recreation, Kona,
was cited for successes in developing a model Homemaker project in the
Kona area, which now services 500 senior citizens within the district;
and
WHEREAS, in the performance of her duties, Mrs. Cagampang made
herself available to service her clientele and employees night and day
without requesting overtime pay, made special trips to Hilo at her own
expense to assist and comfort clients who were transferred to Hilo
Hospital, served the Police Department and social agencies as an inter-
preter, and assisted many immigrants obtain U.S. citizenship.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in commendation .to Mrs. Maraaret Cagampang's dedicated
efforts towards helping our senior citizens, hereby extends its
congratulation for a well deserved honor of being named the County of
Hawaii's 1978 Outstanding Supervisory Employee of the year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that true copies of this resolution be
remitted to Mrs. Margaret Cagampang and to Milton Hakoda, Director of
Parks and Recreation.
