RESOLUTION NO. 108 99
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF ROADWAY LOTS FROM
SUNRISE ESTATES JOINT VENTURE, TAX MAP KEYS (3)2-4-073-035 AND 2-5-063-027,
FOR THE MOHOULI STREET EXTENSION, KOMOHANA STREET TO AINAKO
AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the volume of vehicular traffic in the Kaumana/Ainako azea has greatly
increased in recent yeazs; and
WHEREAS, the County intends to extend Mohouli Street from Komohana Street to
Ainako Avenue; and
WHEREAS, extending Mohouli Street from Komohana Street to Ainako Avenue, would
provide a vital link to help alleviate traffic in the Kaumana/Ainako area; and
WHEREAS, the extension of Mohouli Street from Komohana Street to Ainako Avenue
would require the acquisition by the County of Lots 332, 333 and Roadway Lot D in the Sunrise
Estates Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, Sunrise Estates Joint Venture is the owner of Lots 332, 333 and Roadway
Lot D in the Sunrise Estates Subdivision, more particulazly described in Exhibit A and delineated
on Exhibit B attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, Sunrise Estates Joint Venture desires to donate the subject roadway lots to
the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County of Hawaii, may accept gifts or donations of real property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the
County of Hawaii accepts the donation of real property, known as Lot 332, azea 0.561 acre, Lot
333, area 0.572 acre, and Roadway Lot D, area 0.2482 acre, Tax Map Keys (3)2-4-073-035 and
2-5-063-027, from Sunrise Estates Joint Venture.
A copy of this resolution shall be forwazded to: (1) Sunrise Estates Joint Venture,
c/o Michael S. Chagami, P. O. Box 747, Hilo, Hawaii 96720; (2) Director of Finance; (3)
Department of Public Works; and (4) Gerald Takase, Deputy Corporation Counsel, who will
record said deeds.
