Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 366Bi1165, reports as follows:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
{adds Mamalahoa Highway, from the terminus of the State Highway in Honalo to a point 5,100
feet in the southerly direction to Article 10, Division 1 (Speed Limits)
Section 24-255, Schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit), paragraph (f) Kona}.
Council Member Brenda Ford stated she would like to see a higher, more practical speed limit
posted in this stretch and could not support the bill.
Your Committee on Pulbic Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bi1165 and recommends passage at first reading.
