RESOLUTION NO.424 82
WHEREAS, Gregory Meyer of Hilo, captured the 1982 State Men's
Amateur Match Play Champirship which was held at Oahu Country
Club on July 18, 1982; anis_
WHEREAS, in his toughest competition of the week,
Gregory Meyer successfully edged his opponent 1 -up on the 28th
hole of the 18 -hole quarterfinal match that lasted 5 1/2 hours in
variable weather conditions; and
WHEREAS, the illustrious amateur golf career of Gregory Meyer
includes holding the titles of 1978 State High School golf
champion, 1979 Junior Golfer of the Year, and the University of
Hawaii-Manoa 1982-83 golf team captain.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
HAWAII that it takes this means to
sentiments of a proud community to
spectacular golfing achievement to
prestigious Manoa Cup and the 1982
Championship at Oahu Country Club.
BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
congratulate and convey the
Gregory Meyer for his most
date as winner of the
State Men's Amateur Match Play
BE IT FURTHER.RESOLVED that the Council of the County of
Hawaii extends its best wishes to Gregory Meyer in all of his
future endeavors, which includes the Japan Airlines Rainbow Open,
the Army Open, and as a member of the Governor's Cup Team.
8E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council of the
County of Hawaii transmit true copies of this Resolution to
Gregory Meyer, 1982 State Men's Amateur Match Play Champion and to
his parents, Mr. Gerry Meyer and Mrs. Mabel Meyer.
