Home My WebLink AboutRES 414 Draft 01 1980-1984County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, pursuant to the Federal Mortgage Subsidy Bond Tax Act of 1980 the total principal amount of qualified mortgage bonds which may be issued in the State of Hawaii in any calendar year cannot exceed $200 million and the legisla- ture of the State of Hawaii may allocate such amount among governmental units in the State; and WHEREAS, the 1982 Regular Session of the Legislature of the State of Hawaii enacted Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaii 1982, which Act was approved by the Governor on June 18, 1982, and among other things, allocated $20 million of the permitted principal amount of qualified mortgage bonds which may be issued under the aforesaid Mortgage Subsidy Bond Tax Act of 1980 to the County of Hawaii and provided that by resolution of its legislative body, a county may assign its allocation for a specified calendar year to the Hawaii Housing Authority; and WHEREAS, the Council of the County of Hawaii finds it is in the best interest of the residents of the County of Hawaii to assign the allocation made to the County of Hawaii in Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaii 1932, to the Hawaii Housing Authority for the calendar year 1982, and desires hereby to make such assignment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that (1) the County of Hawaii hereby unconditionally assigns the entire allocation made to it under Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaii 1982, to the Hawaii Housing Authority for the calendar year 1982; and (2) this resolution shall constitute the resolution required by Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaii 1982, to effectuate the assignment of the allocation made to the County of Hawaii by said Act to the Hawaii Housing Authority and shall take effect upon approval. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Hawaii Housing Authority and the Departments of Finance and Housing and Community Development.
