WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Beautification Program stresses
emphasis on islandwide beautification on an "in-house" basis; and
WHEREAS, beautification of our roads, streets and highways is
an important part of the program; and
WHEREAS, the Waimea Road Crew of the Public Works Department
has been doing a standout and commendable job of maintaining the
roads under their jurisdiction by maintaining smooth and wide road
shoulders and by keeping these shoulders safe and beautiful by
mowing rather than by poisoning; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wally Beck, area overseer, and his crew have been
exemplary in carrying out their duties of County road maintenance.`
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it cites and highly commends the Waimea Road Crew
for its good work of helping.to promote beauty in Hawaii County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be
forwarded to Mr.. Beck and his Waimea Road Crew; Mr. Edward Harada,
Chief Engineer; Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi and Mr. Hardy Iida,
County Beautification Coordinator.
