HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 386 Draft 01 1980-1984County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, the Young Men's Institute and the Hilo Downtown Improvement Association are proposing a carnival, special attractions, and special merchandising events in the downtown Hilo area during July 23, 24, and 25, 1982; and WHEREAS, the Young Men's Institute and the Hilo Downtown Improvement Association have requested that a moratorium on parking meter feeding be declared on July 24, 1982, in conjunction with these special events; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 8C, Article 17, Chapter 6 of the Hawaii County Code, as amended, the County Council may by resolution, dispense with the enforcement of parking meter regulations for a specified period of time to accommodate special attractions and events. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that a moratorium on parking meter enforcement is hereby declared for July 24, 1982, on all County metered parking spaces. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Mayor Herbert Matayoshi; Chief of Police Guy Paul; Chief Engineer Edward Harada; Mr. Mack Fernandes, Young Men's Institute; and Mr. Calvin Tung, Hilo Downtown Improvement Association.
