RESOLUTION NO. 120 99
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE COST ADJUSTMENTS AGREED UPON BY THE
EMPLOYERS FOR EXCLUDED MANAGERIAL EMPLOYEES COVERED BY
CHAPTER 77, HAWAII REVISED STATUTES.
WHEREAS, Section 89C-3 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes relating to public officers and
employees excluded from collective bargaining permits the directors of personnel services of the
State and counties (serving as representatives of their respective chief executives) and the
administrative director of the courts (serving as representative of the chief justice) to decide by
majority vote on adjustments to be made for officers and employees covered under Chapter 77,
HRS; and
WHEREAS, Section 89C-5 requires that such adjustments which constitute cost items are
subject to appropriations by appropriate legislative bodies; and
WHEREAS, agreement has been reached among the representatives of the State and
counties for certain adjustments to be made for officers and employees covered by Chapter 77,
HRS, and the cost items included in the proposed adjustment are shown on the attached exhibit;
and
WHEREAS, the total cost to the County of Hawaii during the fiscal year July 1, 1999
through June 30, 2000 as shown in the exhibit attached to this resolution will be $713,096; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 89C-5, HRS, cost items are subject to appropriation by
the respective legislative bodies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that the cost items included in this proposed adjustment as shown on the attached
exhibit are approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this Resolution be forwarded to the
Department of Civil Service and the Department of Finance.

**Actuarially determined contribution rate for classes A and C per ERS annual actuarial valuation dated
6/30/98 (most recent available). However, changes made by the most recent legislative session will
change this figure, but the new rates are not available yet. In addition, the amount of the County's
contribution for FY00 is already established and will not change because of this payroll increase.
