Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have nominated Riley Saito of Council District 8 to the
County of Hawaii Kailua Village Design Commission. Mr. Saito, a 21-year resident of Hawai'i,
is presently employed at Sunpower Corporation as a Senior Manager. From 1995 to 2004, he
was a Vice President Corporate Controller at Mauna Lani Resort (Operations).
Mr. Saito previously served as a member on the Kailua Village Design Commission, and his
community service includes membership with the Big Island Group, Friends of NELHA, and the
Big Island Festival. If confirmed Mr. Saito will serve a term to end on December 31, 2011,
replacing Ms. Sally Marone, whose term expired on December 31, 2008.
