HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 127 Draft 01 1998-2000 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION N0. 12'7 99 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A CHILD CARE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GRANT WHEREAS, the State Department of Human Services has authorized additional funding to fund a Child Care Coordinator position linking the County of Hawaii to the Good Beginnings Alliance and the State of Hawai'i's Master Plan for Early Childhood Education; and WHEREAS, the funds provided by the State Department of Human Services are derived from grants provided by the federal government; and WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expand and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE .COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the Department of Human Services, State of Hawai i, to fund a Child Care Coordinator position. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor; the State of Hawaii, Department of Human Services; and the Department of Finance.
