Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 107, reports as follows:
Bill No. 107, transmitted by County Clerk Kenneth Goodenow, via Communication No. 428
dated June 30, 2009, amends certain sections of the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 2, relating to the
Department of Human Resources (Hawai`i County Charter - Article VII, Chapter 1). The Legislative
Research Branch analyzed the County Code for all instances of the terms "Department of Civil Service"
and "Director of Personnel" to be replaced, respectively by "Department of Human Resources" and
"Director of Human Resources."
The purpose of this measure is to amend chapter 2, Administration, Hawaii County Code 1983
(2005 Edition, as amended), to correct outdated references to the Department of Human Resources, in
accordance with the Hawaii County Charter, as amended by the contents of Ordinance No. 06-60, which
was approved by the electorate during the 2006 general election.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 107, and recommends it
pass first reading.
