Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 441, regarding Bill 110, reports as follows:
Bill 110, transmitted by Director of Public Works Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication No. 441,
dated July 13, 2009, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division I (Speed Limits) Section 24-253.1,
Schedule 1.1 (15 mile per hour limit), paragraph (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(2005 Edition), to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
) North `lwa`iwa Street, from Kaumana Drive to its terminus."
The need for this amendment is based on a request to lower the speed limit on this short
one lane road.
Council Member Greenwell voted "kanalua" twice on this proposed bill.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill 110 and recommends passage at first reading.
