Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 442, regarding Bill I 11, reports as follows:
Bill 111, transmitted by Director of Public Works Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication No. 442,
dated July 13, 2009, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 2, Section 24-265, Schedule 13,
(Yield Locations), paragraph (g), Puna, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), to be
appropriately numbered and to read as follows:
) Huina Road, eastbound approach at the Luhi Road intersection
Traffic Division Chief Ron Thiel appeared before your Committee and commented that the
subject intersection was recently paved and widened. Furthermore, installation of the yield signs
should make the right of way at this intersection clear to the public.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill I I I and recommends passage at first reading.
