Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 117, reports as follows:
Bill No. 117, transmitted via Communication No. 453 from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated
July 20, 2009, presents a Request for Two-Year Time Extension by Pa`a Aina Trust, at Waiakea,
South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-20:007.
Bill No. 117 seeks to amend Change of Zone Ordinance 01-34, by requesting a two-year time
extension in order to comply with Condition B (secure Final Plan Approval) and related
conditions. Ordinance 01-34 rezoned 19,721 square feet of land from Single-Family Residential
- 10,000 square feet (RS-10) to General Commercial-10,000 square feet (CG-10) for the parcel
which is approximately 22,820 square feet in size.
There was no public testimony on the matter.
Your Committee concurs with the Planning Commission and the Planning Director's favorable
recommendation for approval of the request for time extension.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 117 and
recommends it pass first reading.
