RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TH6 OFFICE OF THB NAYOR TO 6NTBR INTO AN AGR66NSNT WITH
TH6 UNITED STATES OF ANBRICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A DONBSTIC
VIOLENCE/SBRUAL ASSAULT TRAINING GRANT.
WHRRBAS, the United States of America through the State Deypartment of
the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, is
desirous of providing funding for equipment For detectives in domestic
violence and sexual assault investigations;
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Grant;
WHEREAS! Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the
federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of
the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to
those powers.
NOW, THEREFORE BB IT RESOLVED BY THB COUNCIL OF THB COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Office of the Nayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the
State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice
Assistance Division.
B6 IT FURTHBR RESOLVED that the Nayor of the County of Hawaii is
authorized to siggn the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on
behalf of the OfFice of the Nayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the
Hawaii County Charter.
B6 IT FURTHBR RESOLVED, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police
Department.
