RESOLUTION NO. 317 82
WHEREAS, Mr. GEORGE KODANI has been selected as the
"1981 Engineer of the Year" by the Big Island Chapter of the Hawaii
Society of Professional Engineers; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE KODANI, a graduate of Honokaa :sigh and
Elementary School and the University of Hawaii, Manoa, began his
engineering career with the State Highways Division in 1960 and has
risen from an Engineer I to his present position as Assistant'
District Engineer; and
WHEREAS, GEORGE KODANI, has exhibited proficiency in project
design engineering, construction project engineering and
supervision, and as the Assistant District Engineer, assists and
shares in the responsibilities of the State Highway, Hawaii Island
District; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his profession, GEORGE is active in
several activities, including the Big Island Chapter of the Hawaii
Society of Professional Engineers, the Hawaii Federal and State
Employees Credit Union Credit Committee, the Waiakea Lions, the
Melani Street Kumiai, being a Little League umpire, an assistant
coach for the Waiakea Mites Parents Association, and a Coach for the
"Masters" P & R Student Basketball Team.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HA6WAII in recognition and commendation of the meritorious
designation as "1981 Engineer of the Year", extend its
congratulations to MR. GEORGE KODANI.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
remit true copies of this Resolution to Mr. and Mrs. George Kodani,
to Mr. Alva Miyamoto, District Engineer, State Highways Division,
and to Dr. Ryokichi Higashionna, Director, State Department of
Transportation.
