WHEREAS, the State Drive, Pitch and Putt contest was held'at
the Waialae Country Club on Oahu on February 7, 1982, in
conjunction with the Hawaiian Open Golf Tournament; and
WHE:4EAS, the event is another of several Junior Golf
competitions held throughout the year to promote the sport of golf
and teach proper golfing techniques to youths 17 and under; and'
WHEREAS, TROY TA141YA of Hilo, competing with other junior
golfers from Oahu, Maui and Kauai, led his Big Island Laammates by
winning the Statewide competition for boys 12 and under; and
WHEREAS, with the victory, TROY has joined the ranks of other
outstanding junior golfers from the Big Island who have brought
state and national recognition to our Island.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it takes this means to congratulate TROY TAMIYA for
his outstanding accomplishment in winning the 1982 Junior Golf
State Drive, Pitetf and Putt Competition for boys 12 and under.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that true copies of this Resolution be
transmitted to Troy ramiya and his proud parents,
Mr. & Mrs. Earl Tamiya.
