RESOLUTION No. 133 99
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO A
MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A COPY MACHINE FOR THE OFFICE OF THE
CORPORATION COUNSEL, FAMILY SUPPORT DIVISION-HILO BRANCH FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 THROUGH FISCAL YEAR 2004-2005.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease,
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal
year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into amulti-year lease contract with
purchase options for five (5) years for one (1) copy machine for the Office of the
Corporation Counsel, Family Support Division located at 688 Kinoole Street, Suite 214,
Hilo, Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the division's existing copy machine was leased in 1994 and has
been adjusted to its fullest level, requiring frequent cleaning and servicing; and
WHEREAS. the downtime from the aging equipment results in lost hours and
frequent inconveniences; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this machine will reduce downtime, thereby
improving productivity and efficiency of the office staff; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Corporation Counsel, Family Support Division,
anticipates an increase in their workload requiring munerous court documents to be
processed; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii will be fully reimbursed for the entire lease
cost of the copier; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County of
Hawaii:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amulti-year lease agreement
with purchase options for five (5) years for the acquisition of a copy machine for the
Office of the Corporation Counsel, Family Support Division-Hilo Branch; and
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligation of the County under the service agreement.
