WHEREAS, Miss Laurie A. Rietow served as the Queen of the
5th Annual Kona Jackpot Gold Fishing Tournament recently held in
Kailua-Kona on May 7, 8, 9, 1982; and
WHEREAS, this 18 year old beauty has already made her presence
known on the Big Island having been born in Honolulu, schooled on
Maui and is a recent arrival to the Kona Scene; and
WHEREAS, this charming and personable young lady was appro-
priately qualified to be the tournament's official greeter as she
participated in all the picture taking and fish weigh-in ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it congratulates Miss Rietow upon her selection
as the Queen of the 5th Annual Kona Jackpot Gold Fishing
Tournament and wishes her continued success in her future pursuits.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be instructed to remit copies of this resolution to
Laurie A. Rietow, her parents Thomas and Judy Rietow; her sponsors,
BJ Pool and Spas and Norman Lewis.
