IN
the Council of Boy Scouts of America honored four men
for their dedicated volunteer service on January 14,
WHEREAS, Ronald Takamoto was named 1931 winner of the Silver
Beaver -Award, which is the highest national scouting award
presented to a volunteer; and
WHEREAS, Harold and Amy Bugado were honored with the Scouting
Family Award Plaque, which requires that both parents be actively
engaged in scouting, and that all eligible children in the family,
namely Doug and Didi, also be in scouting programs; and
WHEREAS, Rudy Hart, was honored with the George Meany Award,
which is organized labor's highest award for service to youths in
the Boy Scouts program, and Mr. Hart is only the second person in
the State to receive this coveted award; and
WHEREAS, ,Fritz Kua, Jr., and Robert Tripp, Jr., were both
honored with the Award of Merit, the Highest award tha Pukahi
District can bestow to a volunteer; and
WHEREAS, these persons have collectively volunteered over 50
years of selfless time and sincere dedication in furthering the
scouting program on the Big Island, and reflect great credit upon
themselves, the units they represent, and the scouting; prouram
throughout the State of Hawaii.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TUE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends Its "Tip of the Coconut Papale" to
Mr. Takamoto and the four other deserving honorees for their
achievements in furthering the Boy Scouts of America program here
on the Big Island.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
present true copies of this resolution to each of them.
