WHEREAS, Mrs. Keiko Mimaki, a Waiakea-Waena Elementary School
teacher, was selected as Hawaii District Teacher of the Year, and
thus, was among seven finalists for the State Department of
Education "1982 Teacher of the Year" award; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. ?Mimaki, a teacher with 24 years experience,
projects her warmth and enthusiasm for teaching whereby it is her
students that have become the true benefactors of her skills; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Mimaki, a specialist in the language arts, is
also recognized for her accomplishments in developing the reading
and writing skills of her students; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Himaki's dedication and achievements exemplifies
the highest traditions of the teaching profession.
NOW, THEREFORE:, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUZTY 04
HAWAII that it extends its warmest con;ratulations.to Mrs. Keiko
"Mimaki for being named the "19$2 Hawaii District Teacher" and that
she continue to excel in her career as an educator.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clark of the County of Hawaii
transmit true copies of this resolution to Mrs. Keiko Mimaki and
to Dr. James Kurashige, Principal of Waiakea-Waena school.
