RESOLUTION AUTHORIZIHG TNS OFFICE OF THH MAYOR TO HNTER IHTO AN AGRHHMHNT WITH
THH STATE ORGANIZHD CRIME DRUG BNFORCHMSNT TASK FORCH THROUGH THS U.S.
DHPARTMSNT OF JUSTICE DRUG HNFORCHMHNT ADMINISTRATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7,
FOR A OCDHTF GRANT.
WHHRBAS, the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force through the
Drug Enforcement Administration, is desirous of providingg funding for expenses
Eor overtime and travel costs incurrefl during speciFic investigations and
prosecutions; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the OCDSTF Grant; and
WHHRBAS Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the
federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of
the powers ggranted by, law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with pro3ects being or to be undertaken pursuant to
those powers.
NOW, THHRSFORH BH IT RHSOLVED BY THH COUNCIL OF THS COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the OEEice of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the
U.S. Department of Justice Drug Hnforcement Administration.
BH IT FURTHER RHSOLYSD that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is
authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on
behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the
Hawaii County Charter.
BH IT FURTHHR RHSOLVSD, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police
Department.
