RESOLUTION NO. 278 82
WHEREAS, at the recent international convention of the
Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) held in Honolulu, Daniel
Thompson was honored for his±contribution over the years to the
automotive field and for his service to the SAE; and
WHEREAS, Thompson, being a member of.. the SAE for 35 years
served as secretary for 25 years for the Hilo group; and
WHEREAS, retired from his position as an :automotive superintendent
for Davies-Hamakua, Thompson served the plantation for. 35 years;
and
WHEREAS, Thompson is an inventor and holder of a patent on
Thompson Mechanical Memory, a device used on seed-replant.tractors
used by the plantation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to Daniel Thompson for
being honored by the Society of Automotive Engineers for his
contribution over the years to SAE and in their field of services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit a true copy of this resolution to Daniel Thompson.
